Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

A quick glance out of the kitchen patio door and here comes the combine harvester.

Green combine harvester harvesting wheat field, dust rising, row of trees in the foreground, blue sky.

It looks pretty similar here right now. On one hand, it’s really beautiful – but on the other hand, there’s an incredible amount of dirt. The windows could be cleaned every few days, and if our robotic vacuum cleaner didn’t work while we’re not at home, the inside would still look like a construction site.

There is definitely no need to complain about diesel exhaust fumes anymore. The amount of fine dust particles in the air couldn’t be any higher.

I hope that’s a joke?

Apart from the few days of threshing each year, it’s an extremely nice location.

Yes, the location is really nice. I have no problem with the threshing at all, since as a child I used to ride along in the combine harvester with the farmer.

Luckily, I have two diesel vehicles myself, so fine dust doesn’t affect me at all.

Not really. Agriculture produces significantly more fine dust in Germany than all road traffic combined. The main sources are manure and the ammonia compounds it contains, as well as dusty fieldwork such as threshing, plowing, and so on.
