A brick veneer facade was mentioned, which (as far as I know) is always installed with insulation. … Except maybe in cases where the existing walls already provide sufficient insulation.
In my view, the "inaccuracy" of the statement is limited, and if you take it that literally, I carefully consider whether someone genuinely wants to understand or not.

A solid brick without air chambers, like a facing brick, provides zero insulation, right? The U-value of such a solid brick is around 1.6. There are much worse options.
There are even “insulating facing bricks” or thin brick veneers.
This was about the absolute, unfounded statements, in which the driver seems to consider himself a specialist.

Oh, nice. Carport or garage? I would also like to green the roof of my carport if I have any money left for a carport after the L-shaped concrete blocks and filling.
What happens to the plants in “normal summers,” like 2018–2020? Do they go into summer dormancy?

What actually happens to plants during "normal summers," like 2018-2020? Do they go into summer dormancy? They don’t have much of an issue on a green roof and usually survive. It just doesn’t look quite as green.By the way, I’m surprised by the strong emotional reactions regarding the insulation of brick or brick façades. That calls for a dedicated thread, and I’ll bring chips and beer.

By the way, I’m quite surprised by the strong emotional reaction to the topic of insulation for brick or brick veneers. That deserves its own thread, and I’ll bring chips and beer. There are even ultras among homeowners :-)
We considered adding reveals and color highlights to the plaster facade, but the labor time for a painter is substantial, so it simply didn’t make it onto the budget priority list.
