Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Perfect! Assuming there is fiber optic internet 🙂

We actually have fiber optic internet 😳 and that in Upper Franconia, in a village with 60 inhabitants. Hard to believe. And there definitely won't be any neighbors.

Unfortunately, you can clearly hear the highway when the wind is "wrong"... so it’s not completely quiet, as the pictures might suggest.

It just doesn’t look quite as green.

So, more of a brown roof in summer, I see.

When you search for mehrgruenamhaus online, you actually find quite a few examples that really inspire you. The fact that it’s all feasible and structurally not a problem is a bit surprising to me. Well, that’s a problem for next year. First, we’ll move in.

I’m surprised by the strong emotional reactions regarding the question of insulation for brick cladding

For me, it was less about the brick cladding and more about the tone when there’s a different opinion...

Here are a few pictures for a change.

Entrance area not completely finished yet (closet, bench, and small details are still missing).

Installed a few more doors and mounted some lights.

Transition from hallway to bedroom was tricky... but I’m very happy with the result.

Of course, my Interlübke sideboard is also hanging by now.

Hallway in front of a dark door with vertical window, boxes on the right, chair with jacket, green mat.

Wooden floor with brown wooden planks, patterned colorful rug on the right.

White dresser with two open drawers; top with plate, glasses, and keys, purple wall.

White wall cabinets in front of purple striped wall, construction materials and boxes on the floor.

So, a brown roof in summer, I understand.

I think there was a misunderstanding—no brown tint in summer. Our Bauder green roof established well even in summer 2019 without special irrigation. By "not so green" I meant "less lush" but not "dry looking." It also works visually.

We considered adding reveals and color highlights to the plastered facade, but the labor time for a painter is substantial, so it simply didn’t make it onto the priority list for the budget.
For us, the average cost for reveals is around 100 euros per window. It’s really just a visual detail. That’s why I’m curious to know who would have preferred that 🙂
We would avoid any color differentiation.
