Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

So? Are they nice?
Yes, very much. We are quite pleased.

Oh, I’m really looking forward to pictures of the inside. Will we get some?
Definitely! As soon as there’s something presentable, I’ll share it.

The tiling is well done. I can only recommend to anyone wanting to replicate this to plan it a bit in advance.

Well said, but we hardly planned the joint cuts beforehand. There are a few corners where we could have done things differently with hindsight, but otherwise, I would rarely prioritize joint cuts over other aspects of a room.

Nonetheless, we are very pleased with the result.

This planning approach seems to work well here: it succeeds—unlike many rigid, millimeter-precise “first-this-then-that” plans, as you can often see in this and other forums.

Well, the patchwork tiles on the ceiling look anything but nice, at least to me....

How would you have done it differently? There are only two other options left (fiddly tiles at the bottom and top, or smaller pieces or pieces of the same size only at the bottom).

It’s the same solution I have, meaning it seems to be the standard approach unless the customer requests otherwise.

I wouldn’t have a better alternative either. The pieces at the bottom would have been spread across the entire room, but now they are only above the shower and bathtub.

And if the grout matches the color well and you live with it for three weeks, you probably won’t even notice it anymore.
