Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Well, maybe it’s just an illusion after all.

You can tell where the interior walls will be by the metal straps. That really surprised me. Especially the hallway – I had imagined it a bit larger in my mind.

Only the walls are marked out and there’s no ceiling above yet... I also thought we had built something for dolls, but then I consciously realized (the logic, right) that our basement area is actually larger than our current apartment, so it’s not too small!

And that’s how it was. Wait until the ceiling is in place, that will put things into perspective again. When only the interior walls are up and it’s still open above, it always feels too small. The ceiling brings the proportions back into the right perspective.

The shell of a building often appears smaller, and floor slabs look tiny.

The panic keeps fluctuating throughout the construction phase:
Oh my goodness, way too big...
Oh no, way too tiny!
Once the roof is on the ground floor, it looks different again. It will be fine.

So the living room is really amazing

However, to my embarrassment, I just noticed now – see botched spots – that several sections of the wall deviate from the correct dimensions. Strange, I usually already complain about this in the floor plan thread.

Are those also made from aerated concrete blocks but still not properly integrated?

How can something like that happen to you? :-p
