Significantly fewer holes in the Ytong blocks than I have. How were they sealed on your side? The team simply worked very precisely. Also, we used the 42.5cm (17 inches) blocks, which are somewhat denser than the 36cm (14 inches) ones. If there was any gap, it was filled with the same mortar that was used for laying/bonding the blocks.

pffreestyler12 Oct 2018 10:47For us, it was due to the stones being delivered damaged; they simply can’t withstand anything. So we just sealed them with adhesive. Maybe I'm just being too picky.
Looking at the house from @AxelH. (Are there any floor plans available? I’m always interested in those), I’m wondering why the house is positioned so high on the plot?
After all, the entire width of the plot is heavily cut away or otherwise leveled to compensate for the height difference.
Can you walk out onto the plot behind the house without any slope, or what’s the reason for this?
Having to climb a staircase first to enter the house surely can’t have been a specific requirement from the builder.
To me, it looks a bit like they wanted to place a house designed for a flat plot onto an existing sloped plot. How steep is the incline from the street to the front door?
Looking at the stairs beside the garage (11 steps at about 20cm (8 inches) each) that’s probably more than 2m (6.6 feet) of height difference over 6–8m (20–26 feet)? So around a 25–30% gradient?
Would be great to see more pictures.

Well, neighbors usually come in a mixed variety, like a Colorado blend, so it’s not just Brad and JLo, if you know what I mean. That’s why sometimes you don’t really want to know exactly how they look sunbathing. I get that, I’ve had neighbors myself quite a few times. That’s exactly why I understand not wanting to be completely exposed. You’ve already given a good reason why someone might add a privacy screen to a fence.

Yes, almost. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. There was just too much going on around and inside the house. But now we’re settled in and feel completely comfortable.
Best regards
