Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Dear friends of homebuilding,

we have water in the house…

Water meter and pipe with green shut-off valve in front of gray wall with blue graffiti.

…and the plasterers are hard at work…

Unplastered interior with large windows and view of roofs and trees

We are excited!

Best regards

Dear friends of housebuilding,

… moving forward. Today, electricity and telephone/DSL connections were installed in the house.

Excavation pit with structural foundation, pipes, yellow barrier tape, and construction machinery.

Small gray installation device on a concrete wall, black cable running in an arc below.

The interior plastering is making great progress.

Unfinished interior of a construction site with large windows, structural walls, and construction tools.

We are very happy that things are progressing so well.

Best regards

We are making progress here as well...

Modern bathroom: wall-hung toilet, rectangular washbasin, wood paneling and window.

Room under construction with large window, sofa wrapped and placed centrally

The second picture looks to me like a design flaw: I would have extended the stud wall all the way up to the window and integrated the window sill with it.

You’re probably right about the "planning mishap," but she definitely fills the space mercilessly with vases, candles, etc.; you won’t even see it later. That’s how I know her anyway; wherever decoration can go, she puts some there.

Yes, a two-level windowsill is definitely practical for that: low decorative clutter can stay on the lower level, while the window sash swings over it.
