Of course, they add up, especially since painting work in a house is not exactly a minor cost.
I initially thought that you can only claim the guarantee after the dispute has been resolved.

but the individual trades are usually significantly lower (except for plumbing, if they handle everything including heating/ventilation/bathroom fixtures).
Looking at our screed work:
all rounded figures:
170 sqm (1830 sq ft) for 4,400€
5% of that would be 220€... which is quite negligible in the case of serious damage...
But well, every tradesperson has to decide that for themselves.
