Looks great, just let others talk (write)...
One question about the terrace: What size are the tiles and how did you install them (what exact base layer)? Thanks. That’s exactly right, because many others said the same in the beginning and are amazed now! But we didn’t care then and still don’t, we love it 🙂
The tiles are 60 x 60cm (24 x 24 inches).
They are ceramic composite tiles, with a ceramic top layer and a concrete-reinforced core underneath. Therefore, they can be laid in the usual way on a gravel/sand bed. That’s how it was done for us as well.
You can find the details from Berding Beton under Geoceramica. That’s what they’re called.

No, I don’t want to discourage anyone; I just see it every day.

I always thought that a plot needed to be at least 500-600 sqm (5400-6500 sq ft) to have any kind of garden space at all.
Now that the landscaping is mostly finished, almost everyone passing by has told us they followed the build from the start because they could hardly believe a house would fit on such a small plot.
Our 389 sqm (4200 sq ft) has proven us and many others wrong.
We are incredibly relieved and grateful that the results exceeded our expectations. Yes, I think there is still plenty of visual space left, but it does look a bit bare.

Wait and see.
Next will be the grill, then the pool, then the climbing tower in front. After that a raised bed, and the garden will be full.
How big is the terrace? 3x4 m (10x13 ft) And that’s exactly when it will look like real life—hopefully cozy. 😉
P.S. I have a 318 sqm (3400 sq ft) plot where my small semi-detached house stands. My garden is also just getting started.

Actually, I don’t mind that at all because I’ve now planned to plant vegetation on the drainage strip. Is that possible? Our house supplier has strongly prohibited planting on the drainage strip, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else either. Thanks in advance for your reply. :-)

The area in the picture is just under 165 square meters (1,776 square feet). There’s still plenty of space to add more, if desired.
For a climbing tower, ours is already too big 😉
The terrace measures 4 meters by 5.5 meters (13 feet by 18 feet).
And the corner where the photo was taken actually has a rounded seating area, about 3 by 3 meters (10 by 10 feet) 😀 Wow. I’ve been planning rounded terraces from the start, but I hadn’t thought of a rounded seating corner. Great idea, and thank you for the inspiration. By the way, everything turned out beautifully for you—congratulations, and I’m happy for you.
