For that reason, we decided to cancel the originally planned laundry chute. I like to take baths in peace.
In hindsight, I’m really glad we did. Especially when I take a bath, I drain the hot water tank quite a bit, and then our small boiler starts working hard, humming as it heats new water. Our laundry accumulates anyway in the bathroom, kids’ room, and bedroom. So I collect it once on the upper floor with a laundry basket from those three rooms, then carry it downstairs to the utility room, where I sort it. It works pretty well:
