It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

By the way, this is one of the reasons why I deliberately left out electrical outlets in the window reveals: to prevent anyone from "unauthorized" placing of Christmas decorations or similar items there! :p

Nowadays, with energy-efficient LEDs, you can also use battery-powered options for that ... 😎

Or just lay a bare cable with power (high voltage works better), in case someone does get carried away with decorating after all.

I have nothing against decorations that don’t get in the way. I prefer pictures and sculptures that we have an emotional connection to. Over time, some pieces have found their place. That is enough to keep the spots for decorations to a subtle level. The right amount makes the difference.
