Every comparison has its flaws if examined too closely, but here it is completely unnecessary.

Well, look at that—how affordable the offer was! Can't manage it, huh?

Before spending more time discussing the costs of brick cladding:

1. We were quoted an additional price of €7000 per semi-detached house.

2. I did not clarify whether this price was for materials only, which is possible, or if it included the full cost with labor, as it was not an option for us.

3. Please keep in mind that the house was estimated with both interior and exterior plastering. The exterior plaster also needs to be applied by someone and has its cost. If you remove that and replace it with brick cladding work, it might be comparable— but as I said, I don’t have to worry about that.

In the end, I am actually glad about the plaster. As you can see, my neighbors don’t even have windows yet. They were only ordered after the lintels (brick-clad) for the planned windows were installed. Delivery time is 4+ months.

I would have preferred brickwork. However, the additional cost compared to plaster was over 60,000 euros!

Yes, of course there is an additional cost. We are all talking about additional costs here. Sorry, Keks, but unfortunately in this forum we tend to focus on specific topics and questions. This doesn’t mean that we want to criticize your decision. It’s more about the general question (in this case, is an extra 7,000/14,000 EUR additional cost for brick cladding reasonable), in general—not about your specific decision against the brick cladding.
