But don’t be surprised if one or another plant gradually disappears.I’m aware of that. It’s just the way it is, and most planting recommendations also mention which species are likely to establish themselves. Otherwise, the saying “only the tough ones survive in the garden” applies 😉A

You have unsightly cracks in the screed, @Holzhäuschen! Do you mean where the screed was opened up? Yes, the building inspector needs to take another look and have it repaired. The cracks weren’t there before it was opened. I didn’t see any cracks elsewhere.

They were chiseling, and oops—the screed cracked—quick, grab the angle grinder....
Unfortunately, it’s really frustrating around the edge areas. What type of finish is going over it? A tile might possibly compensate for it, but adhesive would be better.
The same happened to my installer on the ground floor as well. Unfortunately, it was only noticed after the tiles had already been laid. Luckily, the correction spot was in the utility room.
He didn’t want to retile it himself and just roughly filled it with screed concrete. This meant I first had to level it out with repair mortar, then smooth it again, and finally tile it myself, since the tilers had obviously already moved on. But it fits quite well.

Really annoying around the edges. What type of finish will go on top? A tile might be able to compensate for it, but adhesive would be better. That’s exactly how it went.
We’re putting tiles on, yes. But as I said, if the building expert recommends something, we’ll do it. We’ve already been advised that the cracks should be grooved and sealed with resin. But our expert will decide, I’m not very familiar with screed, though I already thought it can’t remain like that.
Thanks for the tips, we definitely have it on our radar. The tiling won’t be done until October, so it’s not urgent for now.
