Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The bird protection hedge is still missing. So it doesn’t really work yet.

Easy does it. I want to check with the local authorities whether I can plant the hedge on the municipality’s side at the front of the property by the street.
But a hedge is definitely planned. For now, I’ll just let the grass grow.

Almost all types of shading can be electrified, including shutters and similar elements. Whether you want to do this is a different matter. Both opinions are valid. It seems that most people would like it, but due to budget constraints, it is often omitted initially and then retrofitted later. Integration with a smart home system is an additional step beyond that...

What is the height of your knee wall in the attic (shown in the pictures)?
During the shell construction, it was 100cm (39 inches); now it’s just under 90cm (35 inches), if I remember the figure correctly...

Today, our fence was finally completed.

Yes, I know a double-wire mesh fence isn’t exactly a design masterpiece. But with 100 linear meters (328 feet), we simply couldn’t afford anything more expensive.

The fence fits quite harmoniously into the overall look. Nice and simple. I would probably have made the gate one meter (3 feet) wider to fully use the driveway width.
Nice garage. How big is it? 22° roof pitch?

Thanks for the compliments.

I met with the fence builder over a year ago, and since the municipality only approved a 4m (13 ft) driveway, we agreed on that. Later, the paver came, and we paved everything to look consistent. It’s a bit unfortunate that the gate doesn’t fit the driveway exactly, but you can’t have it all.

The garage measures 10.5 x 7m (34.4 x 23 ft), with 6m (20 ft) clear length for the cars, and a separate workshop area in the back for the remaining space.

The roof pitch of the garage is 18°, and for the house, it’s 26°.

I don’t understand what people don’t like about welded wire mesh fences. Is it like art? Do you have to understand it in order to find it beautiful or ugly?

Are many just parroting what others say, or are they jealous of the lowest price?
