Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Same time with a running faucet, that will definitely look funny .....

It seems suitable as lighting for the terrace. That makes sense.

Otherwise, facade floodlights are unnecessary. Light pollution and the uneven facade are not something anyone wants to see under grazing light anyway.

I hope your neighbors live far away. I would be annoyed having to constantly look at a brightly lit neighboring house. The new LED streetlights, which are 15 times brighter than the old ones on the main road, are already enough for me… Planes will probably think our new housing development is a runway…

I do find the lighting quite attractive, but yes, the keyword light pollution is important. It is probably really bad for insects as well. However, “Save the Bees” usually applies to others, not to one’s own rock garden or permanent lighting.

I have considered the lighting so that it only turns on briefly when you are working on the house in the evening—not staying on constantly. Or is it connected to a motion sensor? That would probably drive me crazy as a neighbor.

Well, a neighbor should only be bothered if the light turns on when they are passing by. Then you might ask what business they have there. We plan to control much of the outdoor lighting automatically with cleverly placed motion sensors. Who should that bother?

Whether I turn something on myself when I go somewhere, or it turns on automatically, what difference does it make?

I’m not going to take out the trash every five minutes in the dark. And on the patio, am I supposed to sit there in the dark in the evening?
