Hello everyone,
We are planning to install a photovoltaic system with a battery storage for our new single-family house. As far as I understand, I should register a small business beforehand so that I can declare value-added tax (VAT) or sales tax. Then, I would need to report the monthly earnings from the photovoltaic system to the tax authorities, but this way I can reclaim the VAT on the purchase costs and depreciate the entire system over 20 years.
We are getting the battery from Sonnen and will sign a contract with Sonnen. This means the surplus energy will be fed into Sonnen’s system and compensated. This should be relevant, but I mention it just for completeness.
Is this correct? Is there anything else I should consider when registering the business, besides being able to declare VAT?
Thanks

Yes, there is a so-called 52GW photovoltaic expansion cap, which will likely be reached next year, and from then on, no further subsidies will be available. Whether this will be maintained given the current climate issues, or if it even can be, is something I highly doubt.

SlippySken6 Sep 2019 11:43Feed-in tariff was the term I meant.
The problem is that I wouldn’t be able to commission the system until at the earliest autumn, or maybe not until 2021 if things go badly. Right now, I’m really not sure if it’s a no-brainer if the feed-in tariff is discontinued.
Or have I completely misunderstood something?
The mentioned "link" also says something like "WRONG: Solar power can be used either only for the household OR only for the heat pump or night storage heater."
Someone claimed that last weekend as well. When is it possible to use both?

In the mentioned "link," it also says something like "WRONG: photovoltaic electricity can either only be used for the household OR only for the heat pump or storage heater at night."
Someone else claimed that last weekend as well. When can both be used?Keyword cascade connection. I also initially thought that wasn’t possible. The mentioned forum proved me otherwise.
Of course, you can use it for both. In an energy-efficient new building, the heat pump and the household electricity are not separated either.
I wouldn’t worry about that right now: a) who knows if there will still be a feed-in tariff / payment, and b) if so, how much.
Without any compensation, you have to be very environmentally conscious; otherwise, it might just break even.
