Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Is the stainless steel tower an external tower for the controlled residential ventilation system, which is located in the basement? Supply and exhaust air (combined tower), or where do you have the second tower?

Probably from an indoor heat pump with integrated ventilation? I was also curious about that. If yes, which model?

That is the supply air through the 30m (100 ft) heat exchanger; there is no second tower. The used air is expelled through a duct located in the basement shaft. My neighbor downstairs expels the exhaust air through an additional small basement shaft.
No, it's not an integrated unit but a Zehnder ComfoAir 350q and an Alphainnotec air-to-water heat pump.

It’s also an idea to save the exhaust air tower. Is there anything special to consider if you simply direct the exhaust air into the basement shaft? Obviously, you should prevent water from entering somehow, but anything else?

The neighbor’s small basement shaft is only used for the exhaust air then? Actually, that sounds good; this way, you might avoid having a second tower.

Yes, that carport is really affordable, which is nice for a change.

The neighbor’s mini-basement shaft was only used for exhaust air? That actually makes sense, as it could save the cost of a second shaft.

Not really, except that the basement window needs to be installed lower.

@Mini-basement shaft: Yes

How do you operate the cabinet on the far right?

That’s why I wrote "almost finished." The handles still need to be replaced or adjusted. On the far right, there is a door to the pantry.
