At first, I also thought the spark guard was unnecessary. But without it, we would definitely already have some burn marks on the parquet floor by now. No matter how carefully you add logs, at some point a log will shift, sparks will fly, and something will fall out. You just can’t completely avoid it.
It really doesn’t work without one!

hampshire24 Mar 2020 21:27We have a black-painted steel plate that is placed in front of the stove during the heating season. In summer, it is stored elsewhere. It is the same with the wood stoves of the children.
