We are very excited – although it might be necessary to replace the tabletop after all. This one is made of reclaimed oak and unfortunately has a few imperfections (voids in the wood), and we’re not sure yet how these will develop. We’ll see. It would really break my heart if we had to return it. It’s basically just two oak planks – and those are hard to get consistently in large sizes, usually tabletops like this are made from several glued panels.
But finally the lamps match the table – before, they just looked ridiculously oversized...
The kitchen is now finally completely finished! Only the alignment and gap dimensions will be adjusted again in a few months (once everything has settled). I’ll make a separate post about that here in the kitchen subforum. Awesome table!
