Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Is this your garden? Different levels with retaining walls and steps?
I love it!!!

Yes, the first part. We couldn’t do more yet.
However, for the rest, we need fewer walls.
Thanks, it's great to hear.

And here is another winter view from the future kitchen and dining area. We’re really looking forward to it.

What an idyllic, beautiful view! That’s definitely the advantage of living in a hilly environment. Here in flat northern Germany, unfortunately, it’s not possible to build and live like that.

Hopefully, we will get to see a bit more of the house in the future...?

So, tiling, window sills, and paving are just around the corner...
I’m excited.

Very nice choice – I like it!

What type of paving is that? We have a similar, if not the same one, in mind. I’m curious to see how it will look once installed.

The end of January has passed, and everything has been sealed for a week now. Thanks to the (expensive) construction heating, electrical and plumbing work has already started; an update on this will follow later.

It’s called Hallig paving, tumbled finish.
You can find it at any hardware store, and it costs just 15 euros gross per square meter (about 1.39 square feet).

It’s rare that the almost cheapest option looks so good.
