Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Then tell that to my neighbor. For him, the shell construction took 4 months from excavating the foundation pit to pouring the upper floor slab. The roofer has been working for a month now, and there are still no tiles on the roof.

For us, it also took a bit more than 4 months.
However, we had some unforeseen issues.

For example, the building authority supervisor objected to the planned crane location. So we first had to build a corner of the basement (cast-in-place waterproof concrete), then compact the crane location there, set up the crane, and only afterward complete the formwork for the entire basement.

Then, the supplier of the precast floor slabs had production problems because 2 of their 4 machines broke down, and the replacement parts took a long time to arrive.

And last but not least, our architecture is not simple...

Still, it was a very exciting time that we enjoyed. We had a great shell construction crew and also some real characters among the other tradespeople...
On the other hand, it was also due to us being actively involved ourselves. For example, we waterproofed the basement ourselves, helped the electrician and plumber a lot, and even installed the flat roof completely on our own.
Now we are working on the landscaping.

I would build again immediately, but my wife still has reservations...

Our bricklayers were busy this week and have raised the exterior walls.

I’m currently at the holiday home...
I know why I decided against hardwood flooring in the kitchen :-(

But it looks nice. Just extremely soft and sensitive. (not oak)
