Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Even though this type of construction is very unfamiliar to me, or perhaps precisely for that reason, I am extremely curious about the final result.

A very, very exciting project – thank you so much for sharing it with us in such detail!

Who oversees the execution of the trades in your projects? Especially with a house like this, it’s impossible to keep track yourself since it is so "different" from the usual.

Great pictures!

Considering that the L-shaped foundation walls were only started here last Tuesday, progress is going really well. Today, the blinding layer was poured, and the floor slab is expected to be finished by Friday. On Monday, the formwork for the waterproof basement (WU basement) will be set up and the basement walls will be poured. The 6m³ (7.8 yd³) cistern will be installed where the recess is.

In this case, however, I get the impression that the foreman knows what he’s doing and the team is fully engaged (almost the opposite of the Hotzenplotz shell construction). Still, a valid question.

In the photo, the edges look quite rough (both the excavation and the slab).

The shell construction always goes quickly because you can see visible progress; the interior work then slows down considerably.

@excavation: Where exactly do you see it looking rough?
@slab: That is not the foundation slab! The blinding layer only needs to be level and smooth, like a baby’s bottom. It doesn’t have to win any beauty contests.
