Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

Yes, that's true... I'm not a professional soccer player either, at least I don't earn most of my income that way. I didn't want to derail the thread too much... Others are welcome to share house photos again. Maybe I should start a separate thread where I can post more pictures, including from the construction phase so far, if anyone is interested...

Metallwerner, you’re bringing tears to my eyes. Beautiful house, I really like it!

But truly a great house!

Thank you very much! We also had to provide a solid justification for our flat roof to get approval. Ours is the only one in the entire town – but the architect has experience dealing with the city officials. We succeeded by emphasizing the ecological aspect (green roof). Setback requirements were not really an issue; my sister owns the adjacent field, and I own the house behind the garage, thankfully. Budget… yes, I know. Others go on vacation three times a year for that, but my partner and I both work hard and long hours, and when we come home, it should be our “vacation.” I’m a bit different—my parents both passed away from cancer at an early age and always just worked. You can’t take money with you when you’re gone. So I promised myself to make life as beautiful as possible while I’m still healthy...
