Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Done.
This morning, we completed the final inspection and received the final invoice. Time to take stock. The entire house, including temporary construction electricity, construction water, all utility connections, all earthworks, etc., plus the kitchen and complete interior and exterior lighting, surveying, and government fees, has cost us 266,990 euros. Only the landscape gardener’s invoice is still pending. Everything else has been paid.
When I started here in winter, almost everyone said this wouldn’t work. But it does. At least it works here. And we have a beautiful plot, with a partial lake view of the Kiel Bay. Plus, a nice, warm, friendly, small, single-story house. Karsten

Congratulations, you forgot to include the plot of land.

Sure, that is included. Otherwise, the other thing wouldn’t be possible at all.
I think my wife and I will go out a bit this evening....

I’m happy for you.
You have shown that it is indeed possible, as in my/our case, to build a house for under 300,000 euros including the land.
This is the opposite of the forum’s opinion, where a house is always supposed to be significantly more expensive!
If it is not, then according to the forum, it must be of inferior quality.
I wish you all the best in your new home.
