Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

Since this thread is getting a lot of attention, I want to join in too.

Lately, I've been seeing this often in home magazines (a new trend?): Optimal and purposeful use of space.

When I first saw the picture (in front of the house), I thought: How is it possible to build a house there??

The result is impressive in terms of cleverness. It's incredible how well it fits in now. This certainly required a lot of planning and coordination.

What a spacious, well-proportioned, and beautiful house. Wow! Hats off. Excellent.

Thank you very much.

I also really like your house! All the houses shown here have turned out very nicely.

Thank you! That means a lot.

Our house certainly doesn’t compare to your beautiful city villa (and Koblenz is definitely more attractive than Velbert...). Unfortunately, I was a bit short on the budget for a city villa like that… laugh/smile. According to the development plan and all the regulations, I could have built one. The architectural style of the city villa really appeals to me, it’s truly great. Especially how the space is utilized, and I simply like the type of house. Well — if only I had started saving 15 years earlier. That just wasn’t possible at the time.

From my perspective, everything shown here so far has turned out well. Wonderful to see the variety of architectural styles and the results that came from them. The idea from the thread starter is excellent.

People are rightfully happy with their outcomes.

Hopefully many more will have the courage to post their building projects here.

Then this will become a lovely, colorful regular “forum thread” that people will always enjoy visiting — to see how well, beautifully, and individually others and their families approach their projects.

When I hit the “like” button here (which happens often), it’s not just a courtesy. It’s simply because I genuinely like what I see.

Best regards,
Thorsten

@nordanney: I like the pavilion. Is it a fixed structure?

@T21150: My grandmother used to say: Rome is in the smallest hut.
At the moment, we need the space of a larger house, but our dream is to spend our retirement in a small cottage by the coast.

I can only agree with that.

Great thread. Thanks for it. I would be interested in some basic details about the houses (e.g., external dimensions, living area, construction method, with or without a basement, total costs so far if anyone wants to share).
