Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I don’t understand why I should need a higher supply temperature because of an ERR.

Well, there you have it... For example, if you want a higher temperature in one room than in the others, you have to set the supply temperature so that this room reaches the desired temperature. But since all the other rooms require less heat, you have to reduce it for them using the ERR. With a properly designed underfloor heating system and a well-executed hydraulic balancing, this is not necessary. The supply temperature can be lower while the rooms still receive their desired temperatures.

The ERR should not be used as wrist endurance training, but rather to handle scenarios deviating from the standard load case. A single room temperature sensor is not sufficient for that either.

You keep contradicting yourself... So your ERR is supposed to handle exceptional scenarios (like your 0°C (32°F) winter day), which you believe an underfloor heating system without ERR cannot manage??? Ah, so when such a scenario occurs, you go to your ERR and turn it off because the sun is shining in. But it takes about 6-12 hours for a room to lose temperature with underfloor heating... by then the sun is gone, the room eventually gets colder, and you turn the ERR up again because now it’s too cold... interesting.

If you block out the midday sun on a WINTER DAY (0°C (32°F)) because the constantly running heating would make it too warm otherwise, I wonder who really lacks understanding here. Socrates was further advanced 2400 years ago.

Same here, yes, you also have to shade with the ERR because the underfloor heating with ERR is just as slow to react as one without ERR... but you knew that, right? So you basically shut off the entire heating system when the sun comes in at noon? Wow... I’m speechless!

The thermostat valve is not to blame if many people keep fiddling with it because they feel too cold or too warm. Ideally, these valves are set to close only above the desired room temperature and remain open most of the time.

Hmm... okay, but doesn’t a modern heating system itself regulate overall, based on outside and inside temperatures nowadays?

Anyway, I’m out of this discussion, this is a house building thread after all... and those who don’t want to engage with the topic should stick with their ERR. I know (and not just professionally) that there is more savings potential in this than most realize... but of course, plenty of people drive through the city in third gear at 50 mph even though fifth gear would also work...

This useless stuff costs around 2000 euros in a single-family house.

Yes, blueberry blue – absolutely great.
I wanted a blue bathroom, and there aren’t that many blue options available. Fortunately, Lovetiles had something ♡ and the green also comes from this series. They also offer orange, brown, or black.

Looks great!

Orange? Cool color, and before anyone comments... no, orange tiles are not just from the 1970s anymore...

Cornflower blue is the color of the eyes of the girls by the Rhine, ... (at least that’s what Willy Schneider sang).

I actually like the blue ones, but combined with the floor, oh dear!
