Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Preparations for the underfloor heating are in full swing. The insulation on the upper floor is now completely installed, and the heating system is being set up... at least the platform is already in place.
Open installation cabinet with pipes, valves, and hoses of a heating system.

Construction site: pipes (green/blue), tangled cables, metal floor plate, wall openings.

Bathroom in shell construction with installed underfloor heating pipes in the floor, dust, and unfinished walls.

White, empty renovation room; open drain pipe protruding from the floor, dusty floor.

Attic room in shell construction with sloped ceiling, small window, and unfinished walls.

Attic: sloped ceiling section, plastered walls, window on the left, floor drainage.

You must be building with a general contractor: how much did you have to pay for the platform?

The platform is included at no extra cost. The white underfloor distribution system is also included.

Today the scaffolding was removed...

… and our crane was dismantled yesterday …

Large construction site: construction crane on a trailer in front of an unfinished two-story house, earthworks on the ground.

… it had been standing on our property since November 4th last year, moving many, many tons and even stayed over the winter …

… now that it’s gone, you can see the entire house from a new front perspective for the first time …

New construction of a two-story house made of concrete blocks; scaffolding and construction equipment visible.

Best regards

It already looks nice (even without windows, paint, and so on). Just how I like it.

May I ask how the floor plan turned out in the end? In your thread, only the initial plan is shown. Was anything changed regarding the stairs (they were quite steep)?

Of course you may.
We modified the floor plan based on the detailed changes suggested here in the forum, specifically regarding the storage room (removing the partition wall and the 45° angled wall), the living area (swapping the kitchen and TV corner), and the window height on the north side. We are completely happy with it.
The staircase now has 16 steps, each 19cm (7.5 inches) high, which, in my opinion, is still comfortably manageable.
