Let a green garden grow in front first to provide contrast. Otherwise, paint the extension up to the corner of the house in a rich Bordeaux red. Dark-colored windows would probably look even better, but it should be fine as it is. Otherwise, I think it looks stylish, and the arrangement of the windows is also fine.

daniels8722 Jul 2016 07:57I see it the same way as BeHaElJa; the exterior landscaping makes a big difference. Personally, I would have preferred the windows in a color similar to the roof tiles, but that's a matter of taste.
Otherwise, I think: practical window arrangement > symmetry

The windows were positioned to best suit the rooms; there was no room left for exterior aesthetics with the windows.
Yes, you can tell. The back looks really nice, but from the front I can barely agree with Bauexperte. Out of five windows, all five don’t match each other. In my opinion, that’s completely unacceptable, but it’s no use saying that now.

nasenmann22 Jul 2016 08:01I still find white windows timeless and attractive. RAL 7016 is used on 4 out of 5 houses in new housing developments. To me, that’s a visual overload. But like with many things, it’s a matter of personal taste.
I find white windows affordable, practical, and less prone to design issues.
Rarely have I thought "that really doesn’t fit" when seeing white windows... with other colors, it’s happened more often. Following the motto, "yeah, they wanted something different – you can do that, but it ends up looking bad." For example, here we have stylistically consistent architect-designed townhouse rows with red brick, orange-colored windows, and green front doors.

daniels8722 Jul 2016 08:35@nasenmann: Yes, I'm also not entirely sure about the anthracite color.. we are using the same color on the plaster between the windows. But at the moment, we really like it. Later on, we'll probably wonder what we were thinking back then. But at the same time, trying to match today’s style and what will look good in 20 years is simply impossible. So, it is what it is.
Our west side also looks a bit like a colorful patchwork house when it comes to the window arrangement.
