I’m a bit jealous that things are progressing so quickly for you everywhere.
Here, it feels like work only starts when I check in.
The basement exterior walls were erected the week before last, two small walls were built last Wednesday, and since then the construction site has been idle. Well, it’s obviously too cold now for any masonry work.
Originally, the basement ceiling was supposed to be installed next Monday and Tuesday, but that probably won’t happen without the walls being finished first.

I’m a bit jealous that progress is moving so quickly for you everywhere. Maybe you’ll feel better knowing that in other places, progress is even slower. This is literally what has been “accomplished” since the start of construction (week 46 of 2017!)—and only thanks to the dedication of our architect; otherwise, the structural builder would probably still be hesitating...
When neighbors ask us, we now always say that we started with the natural pool, which is already looking quite nice, and that we are currently filling it with water [emoji6]
I’ve stopped getting upset—it doesn’t speed anything up and only causes (even more) gray hair. After we were told “week 2” it would really start, we’re now well into mid-February... [emoji849] Meeting deadlines and clear communication, including with the client, really seem to be a rarity in the construction industry. If I worked like that... [emoji85]
Oh, I feel for you.
In mid-October, I was told that if everything goes smoothly, the roof could already be on by Christmas; at least the basement and ground floor would be completed...
I always think the same. I would have been bankrupt a long time ago.
