Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

After May 2015:

I have moved on from that.
Unfortunately, I tend to do that both privately and professionally.
But you have to be careful, or you won’t survive the construction process.

There are the DIN standards and then there is reality.

I believe the construction company already knows that I notice every detail

As long as you’re not in the way, it’s actually good if they know the homeowner is paying attention to everything

The construction of the ground floor walls has begun.

It’s great to see how quickly the house is rising from the ground.

Here you can already see our corner window in the kitchen:

Construction site: mason with yellow helmet building brick wall; crane on the left, house with solar panels in the background.

The front door and the windows of the guest toilet and cloakroom:

And the beautiful large windows in the dining/living area:

Thanks to our neighbors, we can also see the progress from above

At several points, there are poorly done mortar patches, apparently because the walls were not planned according to the correct dimensions. What is this three-brick-high slot (in picture 4 at the front left): a hatch for an extremely long-legged cat?

You have to smile a bit now—who needs building inspectors when you have the forum?

No offense to your expertise @11ant!

What is actually being built opposite? At first, I thought that was the construction office.
