Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Fast and inaccurate work with rework is often cheaper than slow, precise work without the need for rework. For quality, it makes no difference.

In his excitement, that was probably the last picture of the brewer.

Well, there is really nothing correct about that statement: reworking (or trimming stones to fit) takes much more time than working consistently from the start. Creating imaginary dimensions during planning will cause problems in every brick or block layer. "Inaccurate" within the meaning of standards with practical tolerances is acceptable, but "inaccurate" meaning "it doesn’t matter if it’s crooked and uneven" is not. And there is no quality product where sloppy planning does not have an impact.

Why would you? That’s neither intended nor justified: what you can already see of the house looks quite nice. The planner made some mistakes, but nothing serious, and the masons themselves probably didn’t. So, all good.

What nonsense you have to read here sometimes... you really wish you could just say out loud the words running through your head.

I’m completely on the same page as Alex.

And @11ant, what exactly qualifies you to comment on just about everything?
