Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Just a small addition: we also had those beautiful dark brown painted wooden ceilings here, even on the walls. That was the first thing to come down. My thought at the time: my goodness, how could anyone do that? This could also explain why the house stayed on the real estate listing for at least a year despite the really great price. The owner said that only real estate agents who wanted to broker the house got in touch. But he didn’t think much of agents, so we were spared that fee as well.

All right, my turn now.

Urban villa with around 130 m² (1,400 sq ft), 9.10 x 9.10 m (30 x 30 ft) exterior dimensions, double garage on a 460 m² (5,000 sq ft) plot

Before:

Rural scene with white houses on green meadow and yellow flowers.

Currently:

Modern gray house with attached garage, gravel driveway, and open green area.

Very stylish! How much land do you still have around the house? Or to put it another way: do you have a site plan for it? I’m curious. We initially planned something very similar on a comparable plot.

Just Google Palram Pavilion. There are a few different versions – these are fixed pavilions made of aluminum with twin-wall polycarbonate roofing panels (the company otherwise manufactures greenhouses and twin-wall panels – they are true worldwide experts in this segment).
We went for the 3.6 x 3.6 m (12 x 12 ft) version.

Thanks a lot for the information. This pavilion is a really good alternative for us instead of the sloped roof attached to the house. I don’t like that roof at all. My husband doesn’t mind.

It’s definitely not cheap, but if the quality of workmanship is good, it will be fine. We will choose the rectangular version and set it up on the terrace at the edge of the lawn.
Now we just need the sofa.

I’m already looking forward to spring!

Why did this great thread go quiet on 12.12.?

Some people still need to finish building their houses first. But it's a good idea to have the reminder.
