Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

That is the carpenter’s fault, who apparently couldn’t manage to measure 2 boards properly in 1.5 hours of measuring.

Is that a velvet cushion?

@ Alessandro. It’s really a shame that it doesn’t fit. Hopefully, it will be improved later on.
A general question about built-in window seats: I find them very attractive visually, but how are they actually used in everyday life? Do you just sit there and look out at the garden? For reading a book, I would miss having a backrest. Just asking out of curiosity.

They are definitely used; it also depends on where you plan them. Here is an example from our house (with a backrest).
Best regards

We really like the idea of a window seat. However, the windows then always have a custom size in terms of dimensions and sill height. We find that too inflexible ‍♀️ We are currently looking for ideas and solutions for alternatives on a window or patio door with standard dimensions.
