Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I live in Belgium. Apparently, they don’t really care if houses look attractive here. There is something like a loosely enforced building code.

In the 6th picture, you can see a terraced house with two entrance doors. At first, I was also a bit puzzled by this in Rotterdam until I understood that these houses have two owners. The left door leads to the upper floor unit, while the right door leads to the ground floor unit.
Since I had never seen anything like this before living in the city center of Rotterdam, it took some getting used to. However, when you look at the apartment prices in such cities, it makes sense to me. They don’t build extensively but rather focus on practicality.

That’s probably true. But there would be nothing wrong with choosing two charming, attractive doors, perhaps in color, instead of those two ugly white plastic ones. After all, the eye matters too.

The picture does not show a house, but if everything goes according to plan, there will finally be one standing there by autumn next year!

Open field with stacked pipes, round concrete container, blue sky.

Here is my first photo of our plot of land. You’ll have to imagine the house (I’m building it together with you anyway). 570 square meters (6,135 square feet), Leipzig region.

@Pinkiponk

The slope is hard to judge from the pictures. How steep is it exactly?

It's actually a nice plot, but the green walls on the left and right would bother me a little.
