For example, also because of costs. You can recoup those relatively quickly, especially when you consider the follow-up costs over the usage period. Not to mention the living space that gets wasted to install the radiators.

Your talk that you don’t need to build without underfloor heating is just not believable. You don’t have to believe it; it can be explained objectively.
A gas boiler also saves energy if you only require low flow temperatures, and the argument about an inexpensive fireplace only really applies to people who have their own forest (though even there, opportunity costs arise). The “flexibility” point might be valid, although I can’t think of a reasonable scenario where it would be necessary.
For keeping extremities warm, you can always use an electric radiator if necessary, without dooming the whole house to an immediate renovation. But that probably belongs in the thread about building mistakes.

The argument about floor space is ridiculous considering the current trend of huge glass and window facades. That definitely reduces usable floor space, not just a few small radiators. Now calling window area a fashion mistake too—well, that just makes you shake your head.
Do you know what windows bring? Light, which has a positive effect on well-being. You should try that sometime.

Do you know what windows provide? Light, which has a positive effect on your mood—you should try it sometime.Beyond a certain amount of glass, it doesn’t actually get any brighter, you realize that? And to make a room “flooded with light” in real estate speak, you certainly don’t need 6-meter (20-foot) long glass fronts facing south. We have four floor-to-ceiling French doors and regular windows, and every visitor so far has said, “It’s really bright in here.” Good planning and layout are much more important—that way we have plenty of space for a buffet/sideboard, armchairs, plants, and so on.But everyone can do as they please and happily put sofas and furniture in front of windows if they like. Just blaming radiators for taking up space is absurd by comparison.
