Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The reason he doesn’t offer maintenance services is probably because nowadays you can maintain it yourself... what maintenance would there be for a mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system?

If you check, clean, and disinfect the intake point, outdoor air ducts, heat exchanger, fan, filter chamber, distribution box, supply and exhaust air ducts, as well as all valves yourself, that’s perfectly fine. Depending on the component, maintenance is required not annually but at longer intervals. I can just as well maintain the electrical backdraft damper myself if I have the time and feel like going downstairs. But I’m not keen on that ))

Please explain exactly what the plumber services on the fan of the controlled residential ventilation system or on the heat exchanger? What exactly does he do at the distribution box?

We can clean the supply and exhaust air ourselves (Erlus), and according to his own statement, the only thing the plumber would do is change the filters on the unit itself and at the outlets, etc.… and I can do that myself…

See the maintenance manual. Changing a filter or wiping down a housing is not rocket science.

Exactly... so why would anyone sign a maintenance contract? I understand it for the air-to-water heat pump because of the warranty... or maybe for the backflow preventer due to insurance, perhaps...

Oh, interesting. I didn’t expect anyone to have actually installed solar roof tiles yet, apart from Elon Musk.
I thought they were still very expensive. Would you mind sharing the price or the extra cost compared to regular photovoltaic panels?
A close-up photo would also be great.

Were emergency overflow drains already mandatory back then? Their purpose is to divert water if the downspout becomes clogged. If even a trickle ever comes out of an emergency overflow (located near every downspout), all alarm bells should go off.

Here we also have a hidden channel drain!

Traumfaenger, do you have a picture of your emergency overflow? Do you have a gutter heating system installed? Can you hear dripping sounds from the downspout?
