Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

At temperatures of 0 degrees Celsius (32°F) and below, white precipitation occurs. This forms a white mass that, at temperatures above zero degrees Celsius (32°F), turns into an unsightly slush, which eventually melts into water.

You let it crush?
Crushing was unaffordable for us 2 years ago.
We had 750 cubic meters of uncrushed material disposed of.

Actually, yes.
Until last week when the demolition company told me, it wasn’t really up for discussion. The price is within the range we’ve heard from friends and acquaintances. It’s possible that landfills in the Rhine-Main area don’t accept it any other way.

I only know that disposal itself is cheaper in Hesse. About 50% less according to the demolition company, which would make the whole process less expensive. We live on the Bavarian side after all.

The quotes with a crusher were more than twice as expensive without disposal fees.

Maybe you have a long distance to the landfill, so it makes sense cost-wise.

Maybe you have a long distance to the landfill, so it pays off that way.

That’s definitely possible, as I said, I don’t know for sure. We contacted a total of four companies. This was the best combination for shell construction and demolition. The others, regarding demolition, were at best only slightly cheaper.

We requested both gutting and demolition.
Price differences ranged from 40,000 including disposal up to 120,000 Euro including disposal.

We received great photos of the demolition. The town hall across the street took pictures when something spectacular happened, and the doctor next door documented the demolition and the new build.
