Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Great pictures, thank you very much. The cladding on the house looks really good.

We also had to fight quite a bit for that – our builder was initially not happy at all that we wanted different widths for the wooden facade. We had to be quite persistent *grin*
Now he really likes it himself and even shows our facade to almost all of his new clients.

I don't know the exact wall construction yet, but I think OSB will be added.

Our wood cladding will also be uneven, but not as precisely – larch in a Bergisch pattern. Photos will follow once it’s installed.

However, the OSB is usually installed first.

To be honest, I don’t really mind – the main thing is that the final result is right. And I’m confident it will be. So far, we haven’t found anything to criticize in the work done by our home builder; not everything is done exactly as it “normally” would be, but everything is well thought out, sensible, and efficient. Usually, you wouldn’t build a wooden basement, and the geothermal system isn’t installed the way it typically is, either.

But actually, all the customers are very satisfied with the results, and I had the chance to visit several customers’ homes beforehand. I never got the impression that anything was unprofessional – we could only see that everything was done to the full satisfaction of each homeowner. So I remain optimistic and look forward to whatever comes next.

That said, I’m a bit more curious now about how it will actually be done. I’ll keep you posted!

We are still on schedule; the masons have started!
Very nice! It’s always great to see a project take shape.

For us, the shell construction is finally supposed to begin next week. It took a bit longer than expected because it was discovered that the boundary construction on both our lot and our neighbor’s lot share a common foundation slab, which first had to be separated manually with great effort.

By Friday, the breaking up and removal of the construction debris will be completed – excavation will take place on Monday and Tuesday – and from Thursday onwards, construction on the property can hopefully progress again in a positive direction. I’m hoping the company in charge of preparing the lightning protection arrives on time so we can get started on the foundation slab without delay.

There will be pictures again in the coming days!
