Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Very nice! It's always great to see something like this taking shape.

Absolutely. It’s happening really fast.

Unfortunately, in the rush they built two parapet walls too high and forgot to leave an opening for the brace support..

For us, a window was offset by one course of bricks, the neighbor also had the parapet wall built too high, and another neighbor had a window completely forgotten... seems to be "normal".

Were all issues noticed and corrected in time?

Yes, of course. We measured everything together, checked the building plans, and less than 3 hours later, everything was in order.

Both neighbors have aerated concrete blocks, and the windows could be retrofitted or enlarged afterwards.

Both neighbors have Y-ton (a type of lightweight concrete), and windows could be cut in or enlarged afterward.

I'm curious to see how they will handle this with calcium silicate bricks…

In our case, a window was also cut out at the end in the sand-lime brick wall.
