Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

And now the work continues directly with the upper floor. As long as the coworkers haven’t started their Christmas vacation this week, the shell construction could still be completed this year.

Roof construction site with white blocks, yellow wrappings, construction equipment, and open fields in the background.

And can she also move here? Or does she have so many hectares holding her back that moving would be worthwhile?

Hmm, I think that already runs into disbelief... She definitely won’t become a Muslim woman, and the property is already large, maybe about 1 hectare (2.5 acres), but not more than that.
And you have to take the son along, who has three failed degrees and is now in vocational training :-P

The shell will definitely be completed. But it probably won’t be weather-tight anymore. I don’t know how long the trades will be on Christmas break for you, but here work won’t resume until January 7th. Three weeks with an open shell—I’m not sure...

Actually, this is the best approach you can take. If you have the time, you should leave the shell structure exposed throughout the entire winter and continue construction in April.

You are confusing something... open is not just open!

Completely open without a roof is actually the worst thing for a shell structure to endure over a long period during winter.

Open, meaning no windows and front door installed but sealed with a roof, is exactly what is beneficial!

Unfortunately, in most cases you don’t have the choice if you start building in late autumn.

The roof and windows are planned for the end of January, as we expect the coldest temperatures in January.
I have heard the same as Lumpi wrote: the greater the temperature differences, the better. Although, this is always somewhat a matter of belief.
