Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

No, you don’t have that in Northern Germany.

I don’t have it now either, and it has never bothered me.

Pleated blinds are, of course, installed from the inside!

Hmm... generally, I also prefer "open" windows.

Have you considered that a new house is more airtight than older ones, and that external shading devices help better control heat gain from solar radiation in summer?

Based on our experience with a new build during the summer, I wouldn't want to do without blinds anymore.
-> Bright inside while avoiding direct sunlight.

Thank you for your input.

I currently live in a newly built rental property and never felt the need for something like that. I consciously decided against it.

This is not meant to turn into a yes-or-no discussion about blinds or shutters.

The weather is okay; the fine plaster was applied in just one day... crazy... including the garage.

The color depends on the weather, we will see.

It already looks completely different = much better!

Construction site at the house; scaffolding, a person standing at the entrance, white trash bag on the ground.

Small house with tiled roof, scaffolding on the right, construction site with materials, person in front of the door.

That was really quick.

My cladding was finished today...
Duration: just under 7 weeks with not a single day off
3 workers
5 days a week
8 hours a day
(breaks already deducted)

Aren't you exaggerating a bit? That would mean almost €30,000 more labor costs compared to plaster. Usually, the additional costs for brickwork are around €10,000 to €20,000. Something doesn’t seem right, or maybe only trainees and interns were working on it.
