Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Yes, but it is really difficult to judge this on site without a camera. When the sun shines on it, it appears a lighter gray, and in the shade, it looks much darker. I like that it changes depending on the position of the sun.

I have to admit that I find the entrance a bit "lifeless." I had to look carefully to even find where it is. And without some kind of covering, it’s not very pleasant to stand there in the rain or winter.
Or is something planned for that?
Otherwise, it’s quite a sizable structure; the external dimensions are definitely impressive.

Seems to be quite unusual.

Yes, you could say that. He is constantly experimenting with ways to build more energy-efficiently and environmentally friendly (which is why I want to first hear how he explains this type of geothermal system before believing that its efficiency is lower).
His latest innovation: helical pile foundations. These use ground screws that support a wooden floor slab (for houses without basements), which is ventilated from below, so it is raised a few centimeters (a couple of inches) above the ground. It can be installed quite quickly, and the ecological advantage is that if the house is ever dismantled, the floor slab can be taken apart as wood (to be reused somehow, even as firewood), and the piles can simply be unscrewed from the ground and removed!
You can see this on his website, under Building Projects 2018, in the house of Evelyn and Bernhard; by going to "House Evelyn and Bernhard" and hovering over the picture, then you can view images.

@KingSong Very beautiful house! I really like the gable roof without eaves—it looks great, though I would be a bit concerned about the facade. The different window sizes are bold but the overall design works well.

@ivenh0: Finally, a house that’s not oversized! How large will it be? Great area!
