Sometimes it feels like some construction companies try to charge you for everything.
When the screed installer comes, he usually installs an expansion joint at almost every door.
If I tell him that in one room the screed should be 5mm less, he does it—without any extra cost.
Why should it cost more? Just so he reads 65mm instead of 70mm when measuring?
These are simply planning details that need to be considered early enough. If done properly, there are no additional costs. If someone wants to charge more for this, they should first explain to me where the extra effort comes from.
Not to mention that even less material is needed—I won’t even start on that.

But as I said, what if you just can’t stand vinyl anymore? This is always an issue when changing floor coverings. Vinyl is simply at a disadvantage here due to its low thickness.

winnetou788 Oct 2017 19:29It doesn’t really matter, I will give it a try.
Still, it’s simply the case that an edge on the door like Karsten’s doesn’t really bother me.

winnetou788 Oct 2017 19:50Yes, I understand you. But I believe no one will really stumble. What worries me more is how to manage the transition from vinyl to tiles. I don’t like wide cover strips. But there will also be expansion joints in the doorways. What is the best way to handle this?
