Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

If the home office is only due to the pandemic, I would use a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones (it's amazing how well they can block out noise nowadays) and in six months, enjoy the nice studio again because it’s not cluttered.

Are you going for an industrial/loft style? Black steel frames with recessed glass panels?

I initially wanted that, but since I already have such a striking railing and anthracite-colored windows, it would be too much. A steel frame will be fixed all around (except at the floor), then fixed glazing and a door will be installed.
Since walls and the ceiling always vary by a few centimeters (a few inches) vertically or horizontally, this loft-style construction would have been even more expensive because each glass panel would have needed to be custom-made...

I’m also curious to see how it will turn out :p

Even outside of the pandemic, I work from home.

How about acoustic soundproofing panels like those used in open-plan offices? You can also position them directly around your desk. If you ever have a job outside of remote work, it would be a shame to block off the open space by building permanent structures.

We have created a few meeting corners using these panels. They provide surprisingly good sound insulation.

Here are some recent photos of our construction project.

The facade is finally complete, and the scaffolding has been removed.

Inside, the painting is almost finished, and the tiling and plastering work will start soon.

It's great to see a brush-finish plaster! Would you be willing to share how much extra it cost? I assume the windows, downspouts, etc., are not RAL7016 but a darker shade?

The broom finish is great. We chose it as well. At first, we were quite skeptical. Now we're completely happy with it.
