Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Raclette is served outdoors.

Because cooking is done several times a day, installing an extractor hood specifically for the raclette would never occur to me.

No one is suggesting installing an extractor hood specifically for a raclette 🙂

As I have learned here, some people are bothered by crumbs on the spice rack or knife block and instead have a spice drawer and knives mounted on a magnetic strip. Possible grease deposits or buildup on a spice rack near the cooktop have also been mentioned...

Is the rising steam, which also contains grease, not "problematic" in terms of deposits on the furniture?
Or are concerns in this regard unnecessary?

When I finish raclette or fondue on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, there’s a one-centimeter (0.4 inch) thick layer of grease on the furniture. But at least I’m full for the rest of the year… 😎:p

It’s great that we can openly and seriously discuss everything here ... 😀

Once again, there are differing opinions – now pros and cons of raclette – that I have encountered in the past few days.

As you already suggest, this is a very individual perspective, so you should actually know whether it bothers you or not. Spoiler alert: Most people here probably would say no.
