Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I haven’t experienced it like that so far. I’m always impressed by how nuanced and objective the discussions/exchanges/spirited debates are here. I also find the above advice very helpful and important for owners building semi-detached houses. If it doesn’t apply to your own house, it might still be relevant for another one, where the owner can still take countermeasures. Perhaps I just lack sensitivity in this regard.

You don’t like these triple, five-way, or eight-way power strips??
They’re definitely cheaper (and save time if you plan to install them yourself)

Of course! I’m building a new house and plan to install power strips all over the rooms like the Ritter family rolleyes:

I think it depends. In the office, living room, and similar areas, I find power strips to be a better solution. More outlets and switchable. The power strip is hidden anyway behind the furniture. In the dining area, though, I can't really imagine it...

For me, those are just dust collectors that only annoy me when I vacuum.

Oh no, I put a power strip behind the speaker. Now I'm constantly shouting "GET OUT, YOU PESTS!"
