Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

I also initially wanted to install wood-look tiles in the bathroom but then I thought of the 1970s tile styles and decided to go for something more timeless instead. This wood tile trend is probably just a fad, one of those things that people will cringe at in 20-30 years 😀
Everything will look outdated in 15 years. And in 20 years, even worse. Even what seems timeless. Fashion trends will take care of that.
And I admit: wood imitation tiles are, for me, the third worst flooring material. Only laminate with a beech look or rustic tile-effect vinyl flooring are worse.

I have a client who has this in large areas of his house, which was converted from a barn. I also often encounter this in old farmhouses. It really looks like solid stone floors to me.

Tiles made of limestone in a Roman pattern, I would guess.

Just an example for searching.

For me, only solid hardwood flooring in a herringbone pattern is acceptable in the living area, but I’m quite particular anyway.

Cool. They also have more stone-look tiles like that. It’s actually suitable for DIY because the tiles aren’t exactly uniform in size, and as long as they’re not submerged in water, that just adds to the authentic feel. Okay, a Roman pattern is not for beginners, but otherwise...
