Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Here are some before and after pictures from our side as well (we’re not finished yet, will we ever be? 😀)
Two-story red brick house with glazed balcony veranda; construction waste in the garden.

Apartment building with brick and wooden facade; construction site with site office trailer in the front yard.

Living room with large windows, colorful curtains, a hanging plush toy, and wooden cabinets.

Modern kitchen with island, illuminated glass fronts, oven, refrigerator on the left, cat on wooden floor.

Abandoned interior with damaged walls, exposed structure, and open passageway.

Bright living room with two beige velvet sofas, white coffee table, piano, and large windows.

Glass veranda with furniture, jacket on the sofa, view of neighboring houses.

Bright conservatory with two gray Chesterfield sofas, a round glass table, and garden view.

We thought our carpenter would finally install the handrail on our staircase, so we went ahead and wallpapered there (the painters have been ghosting us, so we decided to finish the wallpapering ourselves). The carpenter forgot the handrail, but the staircase looks nice now. The only thing missing is the light fixture.

From bottom to top

Wooden staircase indoors next to a wall with a tree trunk motif and a window with a forest view.

Wooden staircase in a bright interior, window with a view of the forest outside.

And back again

Wooden staircase under construction with a window at the landing and an exposed light bulb.

Wooden staircase in a bright interior, large window, tree bark wallpaper, hanging loose light fixture.

Light wood staircase indoors in front of a wall with birch trunk wallpaper.

Not to forget, the view from the staircase.

View through window of tall trees in a forest, grass, and blue sky; interior with wooden beams.

And he finally brought my board for my window seat.

Attic living room with slanted window, windowsill, blue armchair, and display cabinet with plants.

Bright room with slanted windows, long lavender-colored drawer units, and wooden floor.

The view is beautiful here as well:

Open window with black metal frame and wooden floor; view of pine forest, meadow, and garden outside.

We have settled in very well. There is still quite a bit to do, but we are confident we will finish the interior this year 🙂.

We have finally chosen and ordered the doors (that will be a new feeling), we can wallpaper too, and we are now doing the rest ourselves (we were afraid of the patterned wallpaper, but it’s going surprisingly well). One of the bedrooms is still a construction zone; we still need to finish filling, sanding, priming, wallpapering, and painting 😀… and installing the flooring… But then it will be almost done.

At times I regretted it a little bit because it was just too much. But now I’m happy and grateful that we can live here 🙂

Is the wood on the facade real wood or an HPL (high-pressure laminate) derivative with veneer?

We moved in last May.
In the meantime, the hedge has been planted, and the garden landscaping is gradually progressing.

Two-story bright house with terrace, garden furniture, sunshine, and wooden shed.
