I have to honestly say that I also find it bothersome to always hang jackets on a hanger.
Hooks seem much more convenient to me. Maybe that’s the solution? 😉 The wardrobe should provide a tidy appearance. Using hooks would certainly look neater—at least the chair would be free—but the jackets would still be visible.
However, I don’t expect the situation with the chair to improve as long as there is an excess of jackets. 🙄

However, I don’t expect the situation with the chair to improve as long as there is an excess of jackets 🙄Maybe having "more chairs" could help to manage the surplus of jackets? 😎I know this problem from home: a nice rocking chair in the room, and there’s always something left on it.

...I could also try grounding them first 😡 😀Although grounding probably isn’t the right way to go during Corona times, when you can’t really (safely) go out anyway...
There’s no space for more chairs 🙁
@Schimi1791 The rod is too high for children. They can’t reach it.
It’s too high for me as well. I’m quite lazy too: we have a rod that is about 150cm (59 inches) high (a coat could still hang there).
-> That one shoe rack needs to go, or if necessary, a nice shoe cabinet between the door and the chair.
Did you just move in?
I wouldn’t put the chair in front of it either, it basically invites the clothes to be thrown on it.

I know the problem. For the stackable washer and dryer in our condominium, we bought an extremely expensive pull-out shelf specifically so that laundry could be placed there after drying, until everything is folded and put away. Guess what ends up on that shelf? Laundry is actually the smallest part, and if so, it’s usually from the previous wash cycle.
The sofa is always covered with jackets, scarves, and who knows what else. And we do have hooks and hangers.
Since having a family, I also don’t want a kitchen island anymore. I just don’t see the point. It certainly doesn’t function as extra countertop space.
