Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

After 42 days, the shell of the three floors is complete. The roof will be installed next week, and the windows in December. The ground floor has already been shuttered.

When did you order the windows, and which manufacturer are you using? I’m experiencing significant delivery delays with my Schüco windows.

The windows were measured two weeks ago. That means a delivery time of 7-8 weeks. We chose Internorm KF 520 in uPVC-aluminum and were able to take advantage of the autumn promotion with the free aluminum cladding.

I thought I’d share an interesting detail from a house in the UK. It’s the window of the home office.

Modern house facade: white wall, wooden windows, wooden doors, glass door, planter with grass

Exterior view of a modern building with wooden frame window on a light facade.

Here, the three sides of the window recess are not built at 90-degree angles, but at smaller ones— I believe around 45 degrees— plus there is integrated lighting. The tapered window recess makes the window look like a framed picture. Everyone who sees it is amazed.

It’s progressing slowly...
Unfortunately, the workers decided to cut the WPC decking boards right next to the house, which caused the white facade to get dirty.
I was able to remove most of it with a broom, but it’s still not completely clean. Can I try cleaning it later with a garden hose? Would that work?

I would say yes, I’ve done it myself before. I’d just recommend doing it on a nice day when the sun is still shining a bit.

Why shouldn't that be possible?!?
